Audio Engineer in Residence

Record with Parker Johnson

Every member gets access to a dedicated engineer in residence. Parker lives in the rooms you already play in - so when an idea is ready to capture, you don't have to book an unfamiliar studio across town. Reach out, lock a time, and press record.

Parker is the Senior Recording Producer for the University of Missouri's School of Music and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Recording Arts & Technologies from Middle Tennessee State University. He's been our producer and engineer in residence since 2025.

Scheduling and studio booking run through your member account.

How it works

  1. 1

    Reach out to Parker

Message Parker Johnson directly to talk through your project and find a time that works.

  2. 2

    Book the room

Reserve your studio time straight from your member account - record right where you rehearse.

  3. 3

    Capture your sound

Track with a resident engineer who knows the rooms and the gear inside out.

Questions, answered

How do I become a member?

Join in a couple of taps through Allbooked - pick your plan, set up billing, and you're in. You'll get everything you need to start booking rooms right away.

Can I still book by the hour?

We're officially transitioning Soundcheck into a full membership community. By replacing single hourly meters with unlimited monthly access, you get a key to your creative home where you can practice, record, and collaborate as often as you want without watching the clock.

What's included in my membership?

Unlimited access to our fully-equipped studios 24/7 (max 4-hour booking at a time), all the house gear, priority sign-ups for Nightcap house shows, community events and the MO Music Summit, and free Wi-Fi. Coaching and recording are available as add-ons.

Is access really unlimited 24/7?

Yes. Once you're set up with keycode access on your phone, you can reserve studio sessions day or night. To keep the calendar fair for everyone, members can hold up to 4 hours of active reservations at a time, and you can book your sessions up to 30 days out.

How does 24/7 access work?

Once you're a member, you'll be invited to download a TouchPass to your Apple or Google Wallet. That pass is your key - tap in any hour of any day.

How long can my individual studio sessions be?

You can book sessions in 2-hour, 3-hour, or 4-hour blocks based on what your practice or recording session needs.

Can I reserve a permanent standing weekly timeslot?

To maintain an equal, community-first calendar, we don't offer permanent auto-recurring locks. However, you can book any available slots up to 30 days in advance.

What is the Founding Member rate?

Standard membership is $149/month. If you activate your membership by September 30th, you lock in our $119/month Founding Member rate for as long as your subscription stays active.

Does membership make financial sense if I only practice a few times a month?

With Founding Memberships at $119/month, three 2-hour rehearsals already cost less than the old hourly model - and every additional session that month is completely free.

Is there a long-term contract?

No long-term commitments. Subscriptions are billed monthly and can be canceled anytime before your next billing cycle. Note that canceling forfeits the grandfathered $119 rate if you rejoin later.

What happens to my unused pre-paid hours or packages?

We've got you covered - we'll convert your remaining hours into credits and migrate them to your new account. Keep an eye on your inbox for a confirmation email once your credits are moved over.

Can I bring my bandmates and guests?

Absolutely. The account holder holds booking privileges and assumes facility responsibility, but all bandmates making music with you are welcome for your sessions.

Can I bring my own gear?

Yes, always. Bring your own instruments, pedals, and setup anytime - the rooms are yours to make your own.

Do members get access to anything beyond studio rooms?

Yes. Members receive discounted direct access to Artist Services including in-house recording and artist coaching, plus entry into our internal music network and event opportunities.

Can I book for events or private gigs?

Yes. Reach out and we'll help you set it up - contact us for more info.

Can I teach lessons here?

Yes - you can host your own lessons inside Soundcheck and run your own lesson business in our rooms. Contact us for more info.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes, we offer free Wi-Fi for all customers. The login information is posted inside Soundcheck.

What's your cancellation policy?

Simple: don't be the one who ghosts a booking. If you decide you're not coming, cancel your session so someone else can grab the room. Cancel as soon as you know you won't make it.
