Hi, I’m Kiley Grimes,
the Founder & Owner of Soundcheck Practice Studios! I started working on this business in January 2024 after I got tired of having nowhere to play piano.
Originally from Springfield, IL, I’ve been playing piano since I was 10. Now, as a senior at Mizzou, music has always been my escape from life’s stresses. But finding a dedicated place to practice was a constant challenge—and that’s when the idea for Soundcheck was born.
My Mission
I’m on a mission to give back to musicians because they give so much to us. I’m starting with the most fundamental aspect of playing an instrument: practice.
I built Soundcheck to reconnect musicians with their music, with the hope that we’ll create a vibrant community along the way. Hopefully, this is just the beginning.
Providing the space is only part of the equation—what’s almost as important is making it a space that feels good to be in. Soundcheck isn’t some white-box, fluorescent-lit dungeon. I’ve designed it to be vibrant, energetic, and inspiring. My goal is to help you prioritize a dedicated practice space because my life changed when I did.
It all started with a pitch competition at Mizzou.
